Viewing large plan logs in the UI

If you're encountering the error message "The log is too large to display in your browser, please download the file for further details. To do so, click on the downward arrow icon, located on the top right of the logs screen" when trying to view plan logs in the UI, this means your logs exceed the default size limit for browser display.

Solution

There is a feature available that allows viewing large plan logs directly in the web UI with search functionality. This feature needs to be enabled on your account by the Spacelift team.

To get this feature enabled:

  1. Contact Spacelift support and request that the large log viewing feature be enabled for your account

  2. Once enabled, you'll be able to view complete plan logs in the UI, even for larger plans

  3. The feature includes a search function within the logs to help you navigate through large log files

Alternative

If you haven't had the feature enabled yet, you can still access your full logs by downloading them using the downward arrow icon located on the top right of the logs screen.
