Understanding Plan Promotion Permissions

When attempting to promote a plan, if the button appears to be non-responsive or clicking it has no effect, this is likely due to insufficient permissions in the target space.

How to Check Your Permissions

While the initial promote button may be clickable, you can verify your permissions by:

1. Click the promote button to open the promotion dialog

2. Look at the confirm button in the dialog - if it's greyed out, hover over it to see a permissions message

Resolving Permission Issues

If you lack the necessary permissions:

1. Contact your DevOps team or workspace administrator

2. Request write permissions for the target space

3. Once permissions are granted, try the promotion again

Write permissions in the target space are required to promote plans. Having access to the source space alone is not sufficient.
