Account lock out due to SSO issue.

Last updated: November 10, 2024

Spacelift recommends creating a set of backup credentials to ensure access in situations such as SSO misconfiguration or identity provider outages.

If you're experiencing an account lockout due to Single Sign-On (SSO) issues, you can regain access by utilizing backup credentials to access your account and disable SSO. This will allow you to login via the initial IDP. Backup credentials are API keys with root admin permissions.

Logging in with Backup Credentials:

  1. Open the following URL in your browser, replacing <your-account> with your Spacelift account name:

  2. Enter the previously stored API Key ID and secret.

  3. Click "EXCHANGE" to log into the Spacelift UI - from here you can disable SSO which will prompt you to login on your next attempt via the initial IDP

For detailed instructions, refer to Spacelift's documentation on Backup Credentials.
